COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAM- Reduction of Disease burden 

Under Reduction of disease burden the key strategic issues relate to scaling up of prevention strategies, Combating HIV, Malaria, and TB remains a priority as these issues continue to impact community health. Our malaria initiatives will include education, distribution of preventive tools, and collaboration with health services to reduce cases and deaths. For TB, our strategy focuses on improving awareness, early detection, and treatment adherence. We continue to address GBV and Mental through prevention programs and support services for survivors. Through a collaborative approach with local stakeholders and health authorities, KCIA aims to drive sustained progress and build healthier, more resilient communities. 

Increasing Access to HCT, Sexual Reproductive Health through community awareness, referrals to the clinic especially among adolescents and young people.  Since 2020 the organization has trained over 85 peer educators/peer supporters in partnership with local health facilities in SRH, Child & psychosocial counseling, adolescent transitioning into adult care and mental health support. As a result, over 5,000 adolescents and young people have been reached with messages aimed at promoting access and utilisation of SRH, HIV, GBV & mental health services. 

Further, KCIA has hosted the 2020 & 2021, 2022 & 2023 PATA Summits in Lusaka Zambia held both physically as well as virtually. Various participants from Ministry of Health, local health facilities and partner organizations attended these summits.
