COMMUNITY HIV PROGRAM- Reduction of HIV burden

Under Reduction of HIV burden the key strategic issues relate to scaling up of prevention strategies, Increasing Access to Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission, HCT, Sexual Reproductive Health through community awareness, referrals to the clinic and defaulter tracing addressing loss to follow up especially among adolescents and young people.  Since 2020 the organization has trained 35 peer educators/peer supporters in partnership with local health facilities in SRH, Child & psychosocial counseling, adolescent transitioning into adult care and mental health support. As a result, over 3,000 adolescents and young people reached with messages aimed at promoting access and utilisation of SRH, HIV, & mental health services.

In partnership with Peadiatric Adolescent Treatment Africa, KCIA has hosted the 2020 & 2021 PATA Summits in Lusaka Zambia held both physically as well as virtually. Various participants were drawn from local health facilities and partner organizations.
